Dr. Abdullah bin Faisal Alsbaei

Dr. Alsbaei is the current CEO of the National Center for Waste Management (MWAN), a center founded in accordance with Council of Ministers order No. 457,
dated 11/8/1440 AH to regulate and supervise waste management activities while
promoting investment and the principles of Circular Economy for sustainable
development goals.

Under Dr. Alsbaei’s leadership, MWAN has developed a Strategic Masterplan and set
ambitious targets for 2040. Additionally, he has facilitated investment opportunities
totaling around 161 Billion Riyals in the Riyadh, Jeddah, and Makkah Clusters
collectively, further driving the growth and development of the waste management
industry.

Before his tenure as CEO of MWAN, Dr. Alsbaei served as the Head of the
Environmental and Health Research Department at Ummul Qura University, where
he conducted research on waste management during Hajj and Umrah seasons,
showcasing his expertise in the field.

Dr. Alsbaei also made signicant contributions as a dedicated advisor at the Ministry
of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, leveraging his insights and expertise to
positively impact the sector. As the leader of MWAN, Dr. Alsbaei leads a team of
dynamic experts working towards the sector’s vision in alignment with the
Kingdom’s vision for 2030.


Holder of a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Environmental Engineering
(Solid Waste Management) from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
